Best Ways to earn Money From Your Blog in 2022
9 Ways to Earn Money From Your Blog From Home
Many people start blogs as hobbies, but it’s also possible to turn blogging into an income-generating full-time job. The hardest part of generating money from your blog can be figuring out how to monetize your content, whether you want to monetize through affiliate sales, advertising, sponsorships or other means. This guide will walk you through different strategies to help you get the most out of your website and enable you to earn money from it in any way that works best for you.
1) Sell your own product
When you create something you are passionate about, whether it’s a product or an informational guide, there’s no better way to promote it than through your own site. Selling online is a smart choice because you don’t have to stock anything or worry about shipping and returns. You just find customers (through advertising, for example) and ship them your product directly, usually for a small fee that your customer pays.
2) Sell affiliate products
If you have a product or service that can be sold on Amazon, consider setting up an affiliate program. Affiliates provide traffic and sales for their affiliates, so if you sell products on your site and link to them through your affiliate program, then whenever someone buys that product or service through your link, you’ll earn a commission. Amazon Associates is probably one of my favorite affiliate programs because they offer very high commissions (50 percent) even on unbranded products.
3) Offer membership programs
Some bloggers monetize their content through paid membership or subscription programs. These might be private, members-only groups on platforms like Facebook, with access to perks and insider information, or they could be more general membership sites you set up yourself. In any case, before you get started with a membership site, there are some important things to consider: What will people pay for? Do you have enough content that provides value? Is it something they want?
4) Sell sponsored posts or advertising space
If you already have a substantial following on your social media accounts, such as Facebook or Twitter, then selling sponsored posts or advertising space may be an option for you. Many businesses are more than willing to pay thousands of dollars for an advertisement that will run as part of your regular social media feed. There are also sites like Bubblews where you can earn extra money by writing about different topics.
5) Join an affiliate program
While you’re waiting for your business idea to take off, you can earn some extra cash by joining an affiliate program. An affiliate program is a third-party advertising platform that connects sellers of products or services with affiliates who help promote them. Earning income from an affiliate program is simple: You place links or banners on your site that lead customers to seller sites, and for every visitor who makes a purchase within a certain timeframe (typically 24 hours), you receive a commission.
6) Promote affiliate products on social media
Online influencers are earning money by promoting other people’s products on social media. If you have a following on Instagram, Facebook, or another social platform, you can earn money by partnering with brands and promoting their products. As your audience grows, you’ll gain more influence and make more money. Check out sites like ShopStyle Collective to find potential partnerships.
7) Offer paid services and digital downloads
Do you offer any paid services or digital downloads? You could be offering a service like designing logos, copywriting, social media management, photography, or something else related to blogging. Or you could be selling digital products like e-books and printables. Offering paid services and digital products is one of the best ways to make money with your site, since you’re not relying on advertising income alone.
8) Work with brands in a non-financial way
One of my favorite ways to earn money from a non-financial standpoint is by working with brands on sponsored posts. This involves writing about a brand or product in exchange for either free products or payment. Just be sure that you’re fully disclosing that your content is sponsored when you write it and also make sure that it doesn’t come across as salesy. Working with brands can help you get seen, get traction and generate revenue—all while building your own personal brand and audience.
9) Create valuable content for your audience
If you’re a writer, join a freelance writing site like Upwork or Fiverr and write an eBook about freelancing. If you’re more of an artist, share your work on a platform like Etsy. Or start sharing videos on YouTube. Just remember that whatever it is you choose to do, be sure that it’s legal and doesn’t violate any copyright laws (this includes music).
